Déborah Casamatta
Déborah Casamatta débute sa formation en 1998 au sein du Jeune Ballet Corse. Elle intègre ensuite l’école supérieure « Studio Ballet » dirigée par Colette Armand à Marseille, avant de poursuivre son parcours au centre « EPSEDANSE » d’Anne-Marie Porras. Son apprentissage est enrichi par sa participation à de nombreux workshops avec des compagnies et chorégraphes de renom, tels que Hofesh Shechter, Akram Khan, Peter Goss, et Ramon Oller.
Depuis 2007, Déborah travaille au sein du Ballet Preljocaj. Elle y interprète un large éventail de pièces du répertoire d’Angelin Preljocaj, couvrant l’évolution de son écriture chorégraphique de 1985 à aujourd’hui. Forte de ces 15 années d’expérience, elle s’adapte avec aisance aux différents espaces scéniques, qu’il s’agisse de la rue, de salles prestigieuses, de milieux hospitaliers, carcéraux, ou même du métro, portant haut les défis et la diversité des créations.
En parallèle, Déborah collabore avec diverses compagnies, notamment Ccandance de Christian Canciani, Dansomania d’Anne-Marie Porras, La Licorne d’Alain Gruttadauria, et La Parenthèse de Christophe Garcia. Entre 2010 et 2013, elle explore également la chorégraphie en duo avec Pia Gambotti.
Depuis 2012, Déborah s’implique activement dans des projets pédagogiques au sein du Ballet Preljocaj, s’intéressant particulièrement aux actions de sensibilisation et de transmission. En tant que répétitrice ponctuelle, elle participe également à la transmission d’extraits du répertoire de la compagnie.
Sa démarche chorégraphique et pédagogique place au centre de son travail le corps, la pensée, l’espace, le mouvement et la musicalité, constituant les piliers de son art et de son enseignement.
Déborah Casamatta began her training in 1998 with the Jeune Ballet Corse. She went on to study at the “Studio Ballet” advanced school run by Colette Armand in Marseille, before continuing her training at Anne-Marie Porras’ “EPSEDANSE” center. Her training was enriched by her participation in numerous workshops with renowned companies and choreographers such as Hofesh Shechter, Akram Khan, Peter Goss and Ramon Oller.
Since 2007, Déborah has been working with Ballet Preljocaj. She performs a wide range of works from Angelin Preljocaj’s repertoire, covering the evolution of his choreographic writing from 1985 to the present day. With 15 years’ experience under her belt, Déborah adapts with ease to a wide range of stage settings, from the street to prestigious halls, hospitals, prisons and even the metro, rising to the challenges and diversity of her creations.
At the same time, Déborah works with various companies, including Christian Canciani’s Ccandance, Anne-Marie Porras’ Dansomania, Alain Gruttadauria’s La Licorne, and Christophe Garcia’s La Parenthèse. Between 2010 and 2013, she also explored duet choreography with Pia Gambotti.
Since 2012, Déborah has been actively involved in educational projects at Ballet Preljocaj, with a particular interest in awareness-raising and transmission activities. As an occasional rehearsal director, she also participates in the transmission of excerpts from the company’s repertoire.
Her choreographic and educational approach places the body, thought, space, movement and musicality at the heart of her work, constituting the pillars of her art and teaching.
